Digestive problems and CBD

Digestive problems and CBD

Digestive problems are affecting an increasing number of people, mainly due to the impact of processed food on the human body. Often, not having time to prepare wholesome meals, we use ready-made ones that do not always have good quality. This all reflects on our health. How to treat digestive problems?

CBD oil for digestive problems

CBD oil is famous for its beneficial properties. Its wide spectrum of action has made more and more people use this miracle of nature. What effect does CBD oil have on the intestines and stomach? Cannabinoids such as CBD or THC interact with cannabinoid receptors CB-1 and CB-2 located in our body, including in the brain, stomach, and intestines. In particular, the CB-1 receptor regulates ailments such as vomiting, nausea, and affects the secretion of gastric acid. Using CBD oil maintains the proper bacterial flora in the intestines and stimulates them to react properly during inflammation.

CBD oil for the stomach

CBD oil, by stimulating the action of the CB-1 receptor, reduces inflammation in the stomach. Symptoms of gastric mucosal inflammation cause severe discomfort and, in some cases, can lead to various psychological symptoms. The main causes of gastritis include:

  • alcohol abuse;
  • smoking;
  • infections;
  • bile in the stomach;
  • autoimmune disorders;
  • anti-inflammatory drugs.

Each of the substances mentioned above contributes to weakening the protective layer of the stomach, which causes the acids contained in it to cause inflammation and irritations. It is worth starting supplementation with CBD oil in such situations, which will help strengthen the immune system and maintain the proper bacterial flora, and thus, eliminate stomach problems.

CBD and reflux

Gastroesophageal reflux is the return of food content along with stomach acid to the esophagus, causing unpleasant burning in the chest, i.e., heartburn. Scientific research confirms the effectiveness of CBD in combating the symptoms of acid reflux. It has a calming effect on intestinal peristalsis, regulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid, thereby reducing the risk of its reflow to the esophagus. CBD has anti-inflammatory properties, so regular use results in significant improvement in combating reflux.

The effect of marijuana on the stomach

Marijuana is obtained from hemp inflorescences containing psychoactive substances. Cannabinoids contained in marijuana affect receptors in the human body responsible for sleep, pain, hunger, or the functioning of the immune system. Unlike CBD, it can cause various psychoactive behaviors such as euphoria, talkativeness, fits of laughter, disturbance of time perception, but also anxiety or paranoia.

People who regularly smoke marijuana may suffer from CHS (Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome). This is a disease characterized by intense abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Another problem may be the action related to reducing digestive acids in the stomach, which are necessary for proper food grinding and aiding the absorption of nutrients.

CBD oil for constipation

Using hemp oil in the case of constipation can have the opposite effects to those intended. CBD, due to its relaxing action, slows down the digestive processes even more. The oil will be a good solution for nausea, pains, vomiting, and diarrhea.
